The Catholic Secular Society of Missionaries of God’s Love, with the consent of the Diocese of Calgary, is a contemplative-active community founded by laywomen and men called to serve Jesus Christ by promoting the vocation of the laity to God. Moved by the Love of Christ and strengthened by the Holy Eucharist, we strive for a disciplined life of prayer and persevere through a doctrinal and spiritual formation program that inspires us to be a reflection of God’s Love in the family, in the parish, and in society.
«I delight in the way of your decrees as much as in all riches. I will meditate on your precepts, and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. Deal bountifully with your servant, so that I may live and observe your word. Open my eyes, so that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. I live as an alien in the land; do not hide your commandments from me.»
(Psalm 119:14-19)
The Missionaries of God’s Love, taking Christ as a model of being a true spiritual companion, accompany people who wish to deepen their faith and follow a path of spiritual growth, in imitation of Christ.
“A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances."
Our spirituality is a journey towards God that takes shape as we abandon ourselves in the hands of God. In our dialogue with Christ the words of Saint Teresa of Jesus come to life: “I would not wish for another prayer, but one that would make my virtues grow.”
The means that help us to live our spirituality are:
Pray with us
“Be there, silent. See that He looks at you, accompany Him and speak and ask and treat yourself with Him. Ask Him to always please Him because everything good has come from Him”.
St. Teresa of Jesus
